The development of science and technology has brought about many changes to people’s life．For instance，the invention of light bulbs has opened a bright new world in front of us；the invention of television has made our Iife more colorful and interesting；the invention of telephone has greatly promoted people’s close relationship；the invention of spaceship and rocket has created a new era for mankind．In a word，many of the modem conveniences in our life today were the blessing of science and technology．It is hardly too much to say that in modem life science and technology is to human beings what food is to our body．It is science and Technology that frees us from the bondage of nature．It is science and technology that brings us cars，planes，mobile phones，computers，e-dictionaries，and innumerable scientific and technological miracles．
But when science and technology is abused，its destructive power is uncontrollable and unimaginable．Atomic energy is a typical ease in point．It can help us to Change deserts into seas．to remove mountains．and so on．Yet it can also destroy thousands of lives in a split second．We are supposed to make science serve us for our benefit rather than threaten our survival．
