这套丛书共分初中和高中两个阶段，每阶段三册，分别适应初一至初三和高一至高三学生的需要。为了照顾到不同地区、不同学校英语水平各异的实际情况，我们有意识地在以上两个阶段的每册书中，选编了难度有所差别、具有一定跨度的阅读材料。广大师生可视自身情况和教学实际需要加以使用。
